Presidents report: Savino reminded members on the need to narrow down the legislative agenda
Treasurer’s report: Provided by Lombard
Legislative report: Jacklin, Daniels, P. Pearlman, Murphy gave an update on meeting with Rep. Stafstrom about recent legislation that sealed cases that transfer from juvenile to adult court. Members also talked about strategy to build support to undo the law.
M. Pearlman mentioned RCFP program that provides lawyers in states to help reporters for FOI/public access matters. There is an application in Connecticut.
Invited Guests: Isabella Blank couldn’t attend, but Janowski said Yankee Institute is working with CCFOI to address union supersedence of FOI.
Karanicolas talked with CCFOI about algorithmic transparency and his desire to get legislation passed. He also talked about efforts CCFOI could pursue to get broader transparency improvements in CT.
