Treasurer’s report: Phillips reported a balance of $16,385.45. She said the board should decide on scheduling an annual meeting, usually a luncheon in June at the Pond House Café in West Hartford. Last year’s annual meeting was postponed until September because of the pandemic. We gave out annual awards then. Pond House is changing its deposit requirement to $600.
President’s report: Savino reported five media organizations have so far joined our effort to publicize the Yale report on algorithmic accountability. They are asking municipalities about their use of algorithms in deciding public policy. The five partners are WFSB, Hartford Courant, Waterbury Republican-American, Meriden Record-Journal and Connecticut Public Radio.
CCFOI website: There was discussion of how to update our out-of-date website. In past years, updating was delayed for financial reasons. Now that finances have improved, there was agreement some form of updating could be done. Information will be gathered for the April meeting on cost and potential contractors.
Looking ahead: The next CCFOI meeting will be April 14, 2022 at noon, via Zoom.
