Treasurer’s report: Lombardi reported a balance of $2,080.16. Annual requests for contributions will go out this week to media organizations and individual supporters. The money on hand will only cover the next payment on our lobbying contract.
Legislative agenda: There was discussion of our agenda for the 2019 legislative session. The Nov. 6 election brought changes to the legislature. Bailey said there may be an opportunity to win support for public access to historical records, an issue CCFOI has been working on for many years. Anyone with a proposal for the legislative agenda should send an email to Savino.
Executive session on lobbying contract: The committee working on the lobbying contract reported the results of the RFPs sent to lobbying firms. There were four proposals received. After discussion, a motion was made and unanimously approved to authorize the committee to continue discussions with the lobbying firms that submitted proposals.
Looking ahead: The next CCFOI meeting will be Dec. 19 at noon at Wood-n-Tap.
