Minutes, Emergency Meeting, June 18, 2025
This emergency meeting was via Zoom.
Present: Mike Savino, Michele Jacklin, Tom Scheffey, Jacqueline Smith, Mary Connolly, Mitch Pearlman, Karen Florin, Jodie Gil, Chris Powell, Clare Dignan, David DesRoches, Steve Nevas, Colleen Murphy, Liz Gemski.
Annual awards event: The annual event was scheduled for June 18 but had to be canceled. On June 17, Smith was informed by The Hartford Club that a pipe broke and the electrical panel was damaged. Repairs were not expected to be completed in time for our event on June 18. Smith immediately informed the board by email and it was quickly decided the event had to be canceled. Notices were quickly sent to ticket buyers, award winners and the public that the event was canceled.
This emergency meeting was called to decide what to do next. The Hartford Club has available dates next week, but it was unanimously decided rescheduling the event for the week before the July 4 holiday would not be the best option. Instead, it was agreed to reschedule the event for early September.
Smith will contact The Hartford Club for available dates and will inform board members of those dates. She suggested we could quickly decide the best date and then inform our ticket buyers, award winners and the public.
Looking ahead: Our annual board retreat will be June 27 at noon in the backyard of Mitch Pearlman, 35 Bunker Hill Road, Glastonbury. Pearlman will send an email next week with a link to the local Panera to order your lunch. Thanks to Mitch, the lunches will be waiting for us when we arrive.
