The regular monthly board meeting was via Zoom.
Present: Mike Savino, Michele Jacklin, Tom Scheffey, Jacqueline Smith, Mary Connolly, Jeff Daniels, Mitch Pearlman, Jodie Gil, Chris Powell, Clare Dignan, Karen Florin, Paula Pearlman, Russell Blair, Liz Gemski.
The minutes of the Nov. 20, 2024 monthly meeting were accepted.
FOI Conference for Legislators: This event begins the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act in 1975. The conference is Jan. 13 at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford in Room IE from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It is sponsored by CCFOI, the Freedom of Information Commission and the legislative leadership – House Speaker Matthew Ritter, House Majority Leader Jason Rojas, House Minority Leader Vincent Candelora, Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney and Senate Minority Leader Stephen Harding.
Treasurer’s report: Smith reported a balance of $6,852.93. Our fundraising letter was distributed on Dec. 3.
Legislative report: Gemski reported committee membership is still being determined by the leadership. Budget issues will dominate the session.
Looking ahead: The next monthly meeting will be Jan. 15 at 9 a.m. via Zoom.
