HARTFORD — Open government advocates are criticizing General Assembly leaders for saving $100,000 a year in the state budget by ending the long-standing practice of transcribing committee hearings. The Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information is urging top Democratic and Republican lawmakers to reverse the decision along with state Freedom of Information Commission and Common Cause Connecticut.
