As part of the fallout from a Freedom of Information complaint against the city, an open-records expert will visit Stamford on Thursday so board and commission members can bone up on their legal responsibilities.
Thomas Hennick, a public education officer for the Freedom of Information Commission, will brief city lawmakers and other officials on the state’s records laws on June 9. Republican Town Committee Chairwoman Eva Maldonado agreed to withdraw a complaint against the city as long as the commision would hold the training session.
Maldonado had alleged that a June 2014 meeting of the Democratic Caucus of the Board of Representatives had run afoul of open meeting requirements when it opened up to Mayor David Martin and Democratic City Committee Chairman John Mallozzi. [Read More]
